I was born and raised in Abilene, Texas, with a lifelong passion for Elementary Education and Planning.
In 1997, my husband accepted a job as a Demographic Planner, and I was introduced to a software planning program that quickly revolutionized the way we interpret building project data. I was blown away. In the fastest-growing school district in the state of Texas, we were suddenly able to offer a geographic information system that enabled every user to easily gather, analyze, and present demographic data through high-resolution visual mapping capabilities. It was the future on our screens!
Bill Gilmore noted my proficiency in training users in the unique functionalities of the ONPASS software and offered me the job. I gained incredibly valuable experience and started developing big ideas for the future. As Texas school districts continued to boom, I decided it was time to start my own venture: Templeton Demographics.
In 2002, I was hired by the President of Planware…
Templeton Demographics quickly became a successful demographic firm helping school districts plan more efficiently and effectively with our software. We became known for merging the most important aspects of planning software with valuable add-on features not provided elsewhere. Eventually, we were acquired by the nation’s leading housing data provider to integrate geographic informational software (GIS) into school district planning projects nationwide.
Working from the ground up
Now, 20 years later, I have purchased the company I once worked for as a software trainer, Planware, along with the newest version of ONPASS Pro created with ArcGIS Pro. It’s an entirely new adventure, and I am so excited to share the vision with planners across the United States as school districts, and now church organizations too, begin planning their bright futures.
